The Fluval FX4 High Performance Canister Filter took the excellence from the 406 and FX6 canister filter and is the perfect selection for freshwater and marine aquariums of up to 250 gallons in size. With its European ingenuity, it is carefully designed to maintain the cleanest and clearest water while improving performance, simplifying operation and optimizing your hobbyist experience.

The outstanding refined multi-stage filter produces a powerful flow rate of 700 gph while operating with 30 watts of electricity. While water is being forced through, an anti-clog, telescopic strainer is intended to ensure a continuous water flow; thus, assuring that filtered water is being returned to the aquarium from the dual, multi-directional output nozzle. Pump performance is optimized by continuously being monitored by advanced Smart Pump microchip technology. This accurately measures impeller force and speed, assuring that a powerful output, super-quiet operation and energy efficiency is maintained. A self-starting, just-add-water plug in is incorporated, where no priming is necessary. There is a trapped air auto-evacuation which automatically shuts down the pump every 12 hours to ensure optimal performance.

The Fluval FX4 features a 3.9 L (1 gal) media capacity, along with all of the required media included to fill up the customizable and stackable media baskets, each lined with mechanical-pre-filtering foam inserts.

There are provided Aqua-Stop valves with a leak-proof Click-Fit attachment system, as well as valves which are positioned at convenient 45-degree angle for easy installation and rotation. This compacted canister filter has rubber feet to absorb sounds from any vibrations and has a height of 16.5″, which allows you to easily set it under most aquariums.
